Terry Jones to put Prophet Muhammad (p.) on trial

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Not content with burning the Islamic Holy Book, the Quran, American Pastor, Terry Jones, plans to hold a trial of the Prophet Muhammad for "crimes against humanity." Some websites reported that they received a message from Jones in which he said that he took this step out of his conviction that the teachings that were revealed to the Messenger (p.) were the main reason behind the 9/11 attacks. Some of the questions Jones intends to ask the Prophet (p.), according to El-Bashayer website: Was he a prophet of God as is claimed by the religion of Islam? Was he a deceiver?  Was he a man of peace or was he a man of violence?  Did he leave behind a heavenly religion that betters mankind and promotes the equality of mankind?  Or did he leave behind a religion of violence, a religion of racism and prejudice?The website, which described Jones as “lunatic”, quoted him as saying: “If found guilty, Muhammad will be executed.” The alleged trial will be broadcasted on local channels and Jones’ channel known as “Stand Up America Now” on September 11, 2012.Many Muslim youth expressed their opinions on the internet forums, wondering why no demonstrations were held against Jones’ act of burning the Quran earlier this year and why no reactions that strongly denounce the outrageous event were made. According to them, such indifference is what drove Jones to make such provocative statements on putting Prophet Muhammad (p.) on trial.  Comment…The Holy Messenger (p.) embodied through his morals and actions all the values of purity, clarity, love and humanity. He brought along the absolute good to this world and the Hereafter. He brought along the great religion of Islam; the religion of mercy, tolerance, compassion and knowledge. The Messenger (p.) was not sent to one confession, one sect or one nation; he was a blessing for the entire mankind, for Allah says: “We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures.” (21:107). Such steps and stands [as those taken by Jones] are absolutely rejected and condemned, for they only reflect the feelings of feud, grudge and enmity, while it is required to extend the channels of trust and communication, as well as the vital, scientific and objective openness on the Message of Islam with all the noble and dignified teachings it brought alongIn a related context and in his interpretation to the following Quranic Ayah: “And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character,” (68:04), His Eminence, the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra), says: “[you stand on an exalted standard of character] due to your magnanimity, compassionate heart, merciful feelings, tolerant words, soft emotions, concern for the ones around you, ache for the pains afflicting the others, your openness on all people, be they friends or enemies, with the word that is best, the manner that is superlative, the advice that is the most right, the smile that is the most mesmerizing, the sacrifice that is the most precious, the spirit that is the finest, the heart that is the purest, the strictness that is not fierce, the lenience without weakness, the patience without fear, modesty without humiliation and dignity without pride.This was the Messenger (p.) whose morals were as profound as his message, and whose humanity governed the responsibility he shouldered and whose character of wide horizons coincided with the movement he led.He was a true embodiment to all the moralities of the message that he turned into a moving Quran among the people presenting the idea by word, and consecrating the word by an exemplar. Thus, his words were a message, his deeds were a line of action and his silence towards what he heard or saw was an implicit agreement. His greatness represented by his openness on the people is the same greatness he embodied in his innermost and in his missionary spiritual morals and devotedness to His Lord, in every heartbeat, in every whispering of his soul, in every tear flowing from his eyes and in every invocation he made./129
